About Amy Victoria

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritional Coach whose aim is to change lives and inspire people to lead healthier lifestyles. Born in Malta, I have been a UK resident since the age of 12 and currently live in North Yorkshire. I have been taking part in sports from a very young age, unfortunately once I moved to England the area which I lived in didn’t offer the sports I wanted to take part in. This did not stop me; as soon as I turned 16 I joined a gym. This is where I realised that fitness and health is my passion.

It has taken me years to get into the industry as there have been many setbacks along the way. Unfortunately, at 19 I was diagnosed with Degenerative Spinal Disc Disorder – my L4, L5 and S1 had collapsed. The specialists described this as “unlucky”. After two years of agony and treatments, the specialists advised that the only thing that would treat me fully is to undergo surgery. This was not an option for me. I decided to take matters into my own hands, started exercising with a trainer to build up my core strength and to this day I have never suffered from back pain again!

In 2013 I decided that I had enough of working for someone else, I wanted to start my own business and start building something for myself – I had a passion for food, just like my entire family, so we decided to open a café in York, England. My aim was to supply a healthy menu, however, this is not what people wanted, so I had to change the menu and start cooking less healthy meals. Trust me, I know what it is like to be tempted by food all day and I really suffered! During the time that I was running this business I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and a Vitamin D deficiency as well as having hormone issues– it made me feel low and miserable as it took around 12 months to get me onto the right medication. Two years and an unhealthy weight gain, I decided that this had to end. So we sold the business and that was the day that the fitness and health industry became my career.

My plans have a huge focus on nutrition. I do believe that Nutrition is the way forward, whether one’s goals are to lose weight, tone up, or even for sports performance. I truly believe that good nutrition can help treat conditions such as obesity, depression, hypertension, and many more. I have spent the last year in the kitchen, whipping up some yummy nutritious meals for my clients to incorporate into their lifestyles. Obviously exercising is great therapy too, and is vital to keep your body healthy and in shape. My training methods are fun yet effective. Eating right and exercising can and will improve physical and mental limitations and completely transform your life through every aspect.
